    Description

Offered for sale is a GORGEOUS 12 inch dish / bowl in the "Apple Blossom" pattern.  The "Apple Blossom" pattern was manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio in the 1930's.  I identified this pattern in the great book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era" by Cathy & Gene Florence (copyright 2009, 13th edition).  This pattern came in many colors and you will usually see yellow, amber, green, pink, or clear.  Occasionally, you might see amethyst, dark green, Heatherbloom, or light (Willow) blue.  This is a stunning pattern with flowers and scrolls on a crystal clear background of high quality glass.  Please remember that Elegant Depression Glass was sold in better department stores & jewelry stores of the era, not given away like its poor cousin "molded Depression Glass."  The name "Apple Blossom" reminds of of weddings as in the Andrew Sister's song "Apple Blossom Time".  The Cambridge Company may have wanted to market this pattern to new brides during the 1930's.  The piece that I am offering is listed as a "Bowl, 12 inch, Relish, 5-part, #3400 / 67."  The line number is #3400 - that is the shape of the glass that this pattern is etched onto.  The piece number (relish dish - 5 part) is #67.  My dish is clear and contains the beautiful etching.  It measures 12 inches across at the narrowest point and 12 1/2 inches across at its widest points.  The dish stands 1 inch tall.  Although listed as a relish dish, you could use this as a candy dish, nut dish, celery dish, or any type of dish.  The 12+ inch size of this serving piece makes quite a statement!!  The condition of this dish is EXCELLENT with amazing clarity and no discoloration or loss of the pattern.  There is a pinprick on one of the inside rims - you can feel it with your fingernail but it is very difficult to see.  I have tried to show 2 photos of it above.  I didn't notice it until today so it is amazingly small.  You most likely won't even see it but I want to be honest.  This is not a commonly-seen piece so grab it while you can.  Please see my photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will be thrilled with this Elegant Depression Glass 1930's piece.
