BMW Airhead Oil Temperature Gauge Dipstick R75/7 R100/7 R100RS R100RT dip stick

Description

This was made just for the BMW airhead to replace the original dipstick, screws right into the oil filler.  Temperature is measured in degrees Fahrenheit,  easy to read blue and white(naturally) with a red needle. Oil dampening keeps the needle stable.  The gauge face rotates while sealed, so you can orient the face any way you want.  Add a high quality stainless steel and aluminum gauge, and keep an eye on your oil temp, in abut 30 seconds.  Airheads generally do a great job of keeping cool-- this just gives you an actual temperature to monitor, rather than worrying or guessing how hot the oil is.
PLEAE NOTE:   I am offering two types,
this one is for the 285mm shaft for the deeper oil pan on later airheads
-- for the /7 bikes, r65 after 9/1980 and all the r80 and r100 street models.  I also offer, in another listing, a 275mm version for the /5 and /6 machines, r90s, r65 up to 9/1980, r80gs and r100gs with shallow pans.  (
Of course, if, over the years, your bike got an oil pan depth change, you will need to adjust your purchase accordingly

Getting a lot of questions of fitment... if your bike is a two valve airhead twin, and the stock dipstick shaft below the the threads is 285mm, this will fit.  If it is 275mm, the other gauge I sell will fit.
ALSO NOTE:
*These come without oil level markings.  You will have line up your original dipstick with this new gauge, and scribe your lines.
*The shaft is hollow, and some of the mineral damping oil goes into it from the needle hole-- nothing leaks out, and the accuracy and the function are not affected.
