This item in my EBAY store is an EAPG CLEAR with RUBY STAIN  "BORDERED ELLIPSE"  LAMP SHADE.   This Early American Pattern Glass "BORDERED ELLIPSE" gas light lamp shade is antique glass that has survived well over 100 years of survival and because of age has now become a beautiful family heirloom;
This EAPG "BORDERED ELLIPSE" lamp shade is in excellent condition having NO chips, cracks, scratches, and no glass staining, this "BORDERED ELLIPSE" gas light lamp shade is just the way this lamp shade left the McKee Brothers Glass Company many years ago;   I may add that this
EAPG CLEAR with RUBY STAIN "BORDERED ELLIPSE" GAS LIGHT LAMP SHADE is an early vintage antique glass lamp shade that has been used and displayed over many years and still remains in beautiful heirloom condition, surely this lamp shade was cherrished by the couple of people who have once owned this beautiful shade, I am sure this would be a sure beauty on a banquet lamp in the center of a dinning table in an old victorian mansion;   There are eight ruffles around the top of this shade having no damage, there is also no damage to the small collar on the bottom of this shade but there is finger feel roughness on the inside of this bottom collar, just like the early shakers have, the ruby staining is pretty much flawless having very few white specks through out the staining, my numerous photos show this to you, there is a drop of red staining on the bottom of this collar that was done during production that certainly is no harm, all this info I just mentioned to you is shown in the many photos but any questions at all please e-mail me;   There were many table ware items produced in ruby stain treatment in this "BORDERED ELLIPSE" pattern, but this "BORDERED ELLIPSE" pattern is seldom found, finding a ruby stained lamp shade for a gas lamp to me is like hitting a jack pot for such an unusual item in ruby stain;   This Early American Pattern Glass "BORDERED ELLIPSE" pattern is attributed to the McKee Glass Company, that was produced around "1902-1916", you can see this "BORDERED ELLIPSE" ruby stain pattern in the "ruby stain bible" the "Encyclopedia of Victorian Colored Pattern Glass Book #7, Ruby-Stained Glass from A-Z" by
"Mr. William Heacock" who shows this "BORDERED ELLIPSE" pattern in COLOR on page #45 and talks about this "BORDERED ELLIPSE" pattern on pages #79 & #80;
