For Mopars:Electronic Ignition Distributor
LA and A-engine
340 - 360 - 318 - 273
Made in ISO 9002 factory to original Chrysler blueprints!
NEW OEM spec electronic ignition distributor, complete with pickup coil, reluctor,
NOS
Mopar correct
tan
cap, rotor, O-ring etc. Hi-performance mechanical and vacuum advance curves.
If you've had trouble with unstable idle, detonation, spark scatter etc., with the 2000-2013 Mopar Performance distributors, this is your fix! The MP distributors of that era were really Accel GM HEI guts miniaturized into a Chrysler housing, which caused no end of problems. This unit is the original '70s Chrysler "Indianapolis plant" bulletproof design, right down to "heavy" advance weights and the oiler wick beneath the rotor (add a few drops of motor oil yearly). This is the good stuff, even the beefy metal shaft collar and blueprinted thrust washer stack!
Details:
I had it made as a duplicate of the 1969 340 Hi-Po hi-po non-emissions specs, true 2-stage springs, a true street performance curve:
Less than 4 deg. mechanical adv. below 600 RPM (for cranking)
approx. 16 deg. at 900 (fast idle)
Approx 22 deg. at 200 (HP)
Vacuum: near-zero at 5" vac, then 14-18 deg @ 15" (fuel economy / no oil dilution)
For most apps you'd want to run initial (base) timing at approx 10-12 deg. BTDC
Feel free, of course, to rework the advance curve to fit special applications (crazy hot cam, etc.)
Note that these numbers are all
crankshaft degrees
.
Fits all
small block
V8s inc. Poly 318
. Can also be used to retrofit a 318 or 360 Magnum back to carburetor use.
Ready to drop in and plug into any Chrysler electronic ignition system! Magnetic triggering: Will also work with MSD units. Need wiring, ECU, etc?
Check my store for a complete upgrade kit with this same distributor.
I also offer a version with a black cap for correct appearance pre-1965.
Buyer to add low-cost S&H per calculator (see tab above); shipped worldwide.
Thanks,
Rick
