Well, Do you want it to actually work? Do you actually want to feel the highest output ignition system made as delivered with your 1972 455 HO Trans Am or GTO? These components acquire high resistance over years and usually the peak output is around half of what the original system delivers. I bought a new 1972 GTO 455 HO and ordered this option. It screamed so well back in it's day that I ordered all the replacement pieces in quantities expecting to keep the car forever. I also had a 1972 Trans Am 4-speed around 1978. It had about 50,000 miles on it then and seemed to run well. I decided to do a tune up with some of these parts then. What an insanely dramatic difference that made back then. I can only image what you are fighting with trying to get your car some pep and still keep it numbers matching original. I still have a 72 Trans Am with almost no miles on the components. I am not getting any younger and I need some space. Reluctantly it is time to let a lifetime of these things go to proper places. All of the components have the original packaging.
